The Prize of Europahøjskolen på Kalø / The Kalø School of Languages

Europahøjskolen once a year presents its prize. It goes to individuals or organisations working for the core values of ‘the European Dream’ – a vision not only of a continent in democratic co-existence and peace but a whole world – a vision based upon rights as well as obligations – a vision holding in respect the dignity and the inviolability of each and every individual.
  
Thus it is important for Europahøjskolen to support the Moscow Pride Organisation Committee in its efforts to establish the rights of a minority – in Russia and all over the world. The struggle for the right to live a free life as a homosexual in Russia is part of the struggle against discrimination and for the rights essential to any democratic society.

Europahøjskolen strongly wishes to support the Moscow Pride Organisation Committee – if only in a modest and symbolic way – and urges European politicians and institutions to step forward and be part of the forever ongoing defence of – or as is the case of the Moscow Pride – the fight for the mere establishing of civil rights.

This year the prize consists of a megaphone and the amount of 1000 euros.

Raise the voice for the rights of minorities – in Moscow and everywhere!
